Operating within the retail industry, this client needed to change their supplier in order to make operations more efficient, and to avoid the impacts of US based tariffs. They also needed a new way to deliver their products to customers through Third Part Logistics.

Qalam Consulting met with this client to understand the challenges they were facing, their goals, and organizational values. We identified that they needed an international supplier, however they needed to take measures to avoid geopolitical impacts on their business. By sourcing their materials directly from China, they would be able to cut costs and optimize supply without having any impacts on quality. During our research, we realized that the client would also need a logistics strategy, to deliver finished products from warehouses to customers when orders were placed. We identified the best 3PL and freight companies and shortlisted options that suited their needs, values, and costs.
Results
This supply strategy allowed the client to significantly reduce costs, and make their business processes far more efficient. They were able to optimize the delivery of their products and ensure their products were sourced sustainably and at a lower cost.
